The last pontoon bridge on the I. C. W.
The bridge is open and we are passing through.

We pulled out of Anchor Marina at 6:30 a.m. for our 65 mile trip to the Seapath Yacht Club in Wrightsville Beach, where our god-son, Chris, and his new bride, Lindsey, were scheduled to meet us this evening. It was a very pleasant ride north as we passed a number of inlets, and then encountered the Cape Fear River with her current going against us. “Reflection” handled every situation well, and George was happy with the smoothness of our 4 blade props.
As we got closer to Wrightsville Beach, it was very obvious that Memorial Day week-end had started, as there was much more boat traffic in the area and slip space at the yacht club suddenly became very scarce. Chris and Lindsey, who live in nearby Carolina Beach, arrived at the boat a lot later than they had hoped because of traffic delays, but we were just happy to see them!
They had been married on May 1, but we had not been able to attend their wedding because of our trip, so we were thrilled to have them aboard for a separate celebration, to give them their wedding gift in person, and to take them out for dinner. We asked them to bring some wedding pictures, and after dinner we went back to the boat so that Pat could “ooh and ahh” over every single one. They are a lovely couple and we know that they will be very happy together!
